AA  Richmond Flying Squirrels outscored the Altoona Curve 10-7:

Mac Williamson(RF)- 2 for 4, 2B, BB.  BA= .295.

Ricky collects 3 hits for the 3 time in 4 games.  A Daniel Carbonell sighting!  Another uninspiring performance by Stratton.

High A  Lake Elsinore Storm topped the San Jose Giants 6-5:

Jesus Galindo(CF)- 2 for 5, SB(7).  BA= .270.
Austin Slater(RF)- 2 for 5, 2B.  BA= .338.
Dylan Davis(LF)- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .235.

Chase Johnson(RHP)- 5.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 6 K's, GO/AO= 8/2.  ERA= 2.45.

Interesting that Slater played RF while Davis played LF.  Davis is the guy who is supposed to have the RF arm(and all indications are he does).

Low A  Augusta Greenjackets were idle.

  1. Nice to see Slater to still have the versatility to play in the OF even though he is playing 2B since the start of the season if I am not mistaken. It's a good day for Carbonell. If he can string up a couple of games like this, my worries for him will be gone. It's interesting to see how GB heavy are the Giants pitchers in the farm with Chase as another pitcher with the GB inducing stuff though my confidence for Strattion is gone.

  2. Both "hits" for Carbonell were clearly errors. Both the Sqirrels' radio guy and the Curve's TV guy were sure his second one would be changed to an E, if not both. They were easy ground balls in the infield that were clearly misplayed.
